Amarok not building collection on network drives

Hi there.

I've run into a peculiar situation with Amarok. After moving my music
collection onto a new file-server and mounted the network folder using
smbfs on my local machine, Amarok won't build a collection from it. I've
tried various things, such as re-installing, mounting in a different
directory and even wiping any trace of Amarok I could find, and then
re-install. I build and install the program through subversion, using
the (extremely handy) amarok-svn.sh script, which can be found at
http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Amarok-svn

If I add a local directory to the collection tree, it will instantly
build the collection and include the local files, but any and all
networked files are no-shows.

Is it simply not possible or am I just missing something? I didn't know
exactly what, if any, additional information would be needed to solve
the issue, but I'll be happy to reply with all that's needed.
