Hi Cheatah!
Try not manually partitioning and let it choose how to divide the
disk. If you are doing a dual boot thing request more information.
It would probably good to let Ubuntu format the entire disk if have no
useful data on it.
I have sometimes see this when the disk partition table gets mixed up
(if so it probably was before Ubuntu tried to change it). The
Ultimate Boot CD has some good disk utility tools for the older,
smaller drives"
