Hard Drive Space

Hi

What commands do I use to tell me how much hard drive space I have available 
please? And is there a useful site that I can go to that might list these 
commands please?

Also, I am about to load two 250 gig hard drives and also a sound card onto my 
system. I have an 80 gig hard drive already. Will Ubuntu detect the new 
drives automatically and how do I then add the space as hard drive space. 
What I would like to do is to use them to store dvds, music and photos.
