how to mount a hdd in live cd mode?

hi all

is there a way to mount a hard drive in live cd mode
i followed this guide http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=247688
because i wanted a gui grub but that didnt work, so i want to mount  my hdd
in the live cd mode & hopefully reinstall grub in the right place

any thoughts?
