Our mail servers exclusively run amavisd-new to do right this job;
works like a breeze and integrates rather well with postfix. Basically,
amavisd-new is sort of a "binding layer" to accept mails from postfix
via SMTP or LMTP and pass them through various local tools
(spamassassin, clamav, ...) in order to get them content-checked. Best
of those tools I've come across so far...
