Dapper - epiphany and firefox stopped working, segmentation fault.

I've just been informed that one of the Dapper machines in our cafe is
having problems (though oddly the other one next to it is fine, maybe
they are in different upgrade states). Epiphany and Firefox have
stopped working, although everything else seems to work fine:

forest at hawthorn:~$ epiphany

(epiphany:4909): libgnomevfs-WARNING **: Failed to create service browser:
Bad state

forest at hawthorn:~$ firefox
Segmentation fault

Anyone know what this might be?
