Video players

I'm running 6.06LTS with totem and totem-gstreamer installed.  Recently
I installed xine, which seems to be more to my liking. Since I installed
the totem add-ons with easyubuntu, every update ends with "The following
packages will be skipped - totem, totem-gstreamer".

I'd like to remove totem and totem-gstreamer, since I'm not using them.
Will removing these cause any conflict with xine or any other installed
apps with Dapper ?
