Trouble with a PCMCIA Card (WPC54GS)

(this is my maiden mail to this list !)

I have a WPC54GS PCMCIA card that is detected but that does not connect me.

I've read in the forums several approachs to setup properly this card. 
Is there an absolute trut, a tried-and-tested method to setup this card 
properly ?
