Alcatel SpeedTouch modem

Will this modem (it's the green flat frog shaped one!) just work with
Ubuntu Dapper. I've seen some articles on the WEB describing various
things I need to do, but they all seem to assume there is no support at
all in the system. What support is there under Ubuntu? Presumbaly I need
to get the microcode from somewhere and then also configure it with my
ISP username and password. Are there any other packages I will need?
