connect to gn.archive.ubuntu.com? sounds like something gone wrong :) or 
is that your typing? :)
notice the ip though (1.0.0.0). do you have custom DNS settings (in 
/etc/hosts or /etc/resolv.conf)? if not try waiting 10-20 min, flushing 
dns, then trying to update again.
