Don't have permission to read a Firewire drive

Your problem is similar to the one shown in 'this'
(http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=244611) thread; as there well
explained, you can get around it remounting the drive after it is
mounted with

    mount -o rw,remount /media/firewire
--------------------
 to obtain rw rights. Otherwise, you can make an udev to definitely
automount it with the correct rights.



Which is your drive? I've anx external 160GB firewire Maxtor and it is
correctly automounted.
