New System - Hanging on Install

My specs:



Intel E6600 @ 3.465GHz (stable in XP, based on various
torture/stability tests)

Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6

...



Glad I found this thread as I'm having the same issue, it kinda slows
down as the 'mounting file system', then the funky Ubuntu graphic goes
away and I'm taking to text saying:



"decompressing Linux



Booting Kernel" and nothing....



Ah well, might give debian a try...hrm.
