OK, in all of these critters there is some kind of application
installer. In RHEL you may well find this in the menus (Install
Remove Applications if I remember). So now you need to install the
C++ developement libraries so that you can (apparently) compile some
code.
If you have synaptic there life would be easy. If not, I hope install
remove applications is part of your world.
Other than that, you are left with yum.
Recommendation - sign up on the fedora list real fast!!
