I remember, Alexander pointed me to creating snapshot volumes and then
using partimage to make a back of these. After much tinkering and
learning (modprobe dm-snapshot saved a lot of time!!) I have created
desired backups. Now my next question is how to restore them... I have
backups of the system mounts such as /, /usr, /var etc. Must I boot into
another linux installation or can I somehow do it online?
Thanks,
Gabe
