My Serial mouse doesn't work

Sir,
  Today  I installed Ubuntu linux which has a gnome environment. Please
  guide. I am a new bee in Linux. I am a expert in Windows. Sir, I want
  to leave windows and turn to open Linix Operating system. I got linux
  from my friend 'Ubuntu'. Sir it a very user friendly linux but my
  mouse in not working. I am running mouse by using accessibility
  options.
