Just for the minutes: I read your thread on Thunderstor on Ubuntu. I
read the recommendations you recieved. And I read this last mail of
yours. Overally, I see you paid a bunch of money to obtain some
proprietary software just to learn that it's been rendered useless after
migrating to Linux. I see your problem, and I can understand you're
angry about this. Two hints, however:

- - The fact Thunderstor doesn't work on Ubuntu is not something Ubuntu is
to blame for. You paid money for that very product, so claiming support
from the person you paid for that product seems just fair. Ubuntu people
and the persons on this list can't help you there.

- - Overally, you should think about whether using a proprietary tool to
backup your data is a wise choice, since (as you already learnt) you are
likely to need that very tool also to restore data (which sometimes is
just not possible, for whichever reasons). Backing up TB mails (which,
after all, are stored in mbox files) should be a breeze just using
open-source software, so there should be no need to spend money on
something like Thunderstor.

Cheers,
Kristian
