I ave, but not as a serious web server. I've got it to make testing
PHP scripts I've written easier as my site is still being built and I
don't have web space yet.

It puts all its files in /opt/lampp if you follow its instructions,
but I suppose you could put it elsewhere.

I am not to sure if it has security problems though, I remember seeing
a patch for one of its components but I'm not sure if Xampp updated
their packages.

Seems the daemons are offline except when I'm testing, and I have
configured Apache to only listen to local host, and I had Firestarter
configure IP tables not to allow outside connections then its probably
not a problem but I wouldn't use it for a production server.
