Edgy: latest update causes noisy fan (laptop)

I am using Edgy for about two weeks. About three days ago I did an
update/upgrade with the most recent packages (incl. kernel package
update) and restarted my system which is a Laptop (MSI Megabook S260).
Now the fan is starting every few seconds for a short period which is
very annoying. This was not the case with Dapper or Edgy before the last
update I did. Any idea what could be the problem?
