Any terminal with a horizontal buffer?

I like both GNOME Terminal and xfterm pretty well, but there's one
feature I REALLY LIKE in the Mac OS X terminal (OS X 10.3.9 on my
wife's Mac) which I have not yet seen in linux. When you bring up
something having long lines of text (such as ps uax), even if the
terminal starts out at 80 columns, when you drag the window larger,
the "missing" columns are there so you can read them.

Does anyone know of a terminal, preferably in the standard Ubuntu
repositories, that buffers rather than chops off the lines at the
width of the terminal window? (Or maybe there's a setting I've missed
on the standard ones.)
