As much as I wanted to ignore this thread (since both of the issues were
resolved) I'm impelled to reply since a) the thread refuses to die and
b) there's a common theme in some of the coming responses, namely that
offenses happen which I think should be answered.

Well yes, they do and it will be stupid to complain about that. However,
it's one thing for offenses to happen and quite another asking for an
offense(s) to to be stopped. There's nothing offensive in a request like
that, in fact, it's normal for civilized people to have mutual respect
of each other so suggesting that those offended would have to just live
with it is, IMO, strange if not altogether barbaric.

That is OK. What's not OK though is if someone decided to insult you
because they have no regard for your beliefs. Mind you, this is not what
happened here as clearly seen from an apology offered (which implies the
person in question didn't mean any harm) but it is as equally clear that
this is exactly the attitude being expressed in the last few posts. The
fact that you find Christianity offensive is irrelevant since no one is
trying to convert you. All that was asked was that certain language
usage be avoided, the sort of language that, as a matter of fact,
doesn't belong here.

As much as I appreciate your poetic language, I'm afraid I would have to
disagree with you both about the cold analogy and about spreading. If
you check the thread, you'll no doubt see nothing is being spread apart
from you informing us you're offended by a certain religion the fruits
of which I'm sure you enjoy daily.
