LAMP server setup

I have no problem to setup broadband connection on a workstation by
running pppoe.  But this is a server.  I have been looking around on
/etc/network/interfaces and did not know where to put login and
password which are 2 elements for connection.  Because of dynamic IP I
could not figure how to config /etc/network/interfaces"

I'm now running Ubuntu Live CD on the same PC answering this list.
