laptop standby

Hi,

My laptop is Fujitsu Lifebook C Series.

I tried Power Manager but it does not seem to work. Basically, I cannot 
make my computer to standby.

I also tried the instructions here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SuspendHowto

Still no result.

Do you people manage to make your laptop standby?
