[xubuntu] edgy upgrade + power failure = unbootable?

thanks for your reply. i didn't notice on my first pass through. i'll
take another look. the tab key drops down to a subroutine that displays
the stuff i mentioned. but not sure what keystroke/incantation i need to
reset bios.
