ubuntu on sun x64 servers

Hi ive just got myself a sun x2200 x64 server and i was running if the 
amd64 distro will install and run properly on this family of servers. 
There isnt much info about it, they only promote redhat and suse, 
however on the tools cd there are standard drivers for redhat,  ubuntu 
will prob have like broadcom nextreme drivers, and nvidia gigabit lan 
and sata drivers etc.

In terms of management on a linux id prefer ubuntu so would like to know 
any success stories. im downloading the server x64 distro at the moment 
to try.
