If it's anything like my Sony DV camera, you HAVE to connect it via Firewire
to get video off the tape. The memory stick can only be read with the little
black box card reader which came with the camera, which does indeed plug
into the USB port. Things may have changed somewhat since I bought this
camera 3 years ago however.
