What do you mean by "something"? All there is is 4 screws, a power cable,
and one of the 3 ribbon cables I used, connected only to the device and the
motherboard.

IIRC, in the at least 5 times I did it over more than a week's time the
timestamps and byte counts never changed. At least once I got them from the
loop mounted edgy beta DVD.
