Hi All,
Having looked again in /etc/apt/ I found the sources.list.d directory
which contained:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 165 2006-10-13 14:57 dapper-multiverse.list
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 165 2006-10-13 14:57 dapper-multiverse.list.save
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 138 2006-10-13 14:57 dapper-universe.list
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 138 2006-10-13 14:57 dapper-universe.list.save

When opening gedit to have a look at a file I got this message:
(gedit:8935): GnomeUI-WARNING **: While connecting to session manager:
Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols
specified are supported and host-based authentication failed.

The file dapper-multiverse.save contained:
# automatically added by gnome-app-install on 2006-08-15 14:53:30.130076
deb http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ dapper-updates main restricted
universe multiverse

So the questions are:
Whats going on?
Is this gnome specific?
Can or should this be removed?

It's all rather trivial as it does work, but I still get the duplication
warnings.

Regards,
Nick - Curious still...
