Usually grub (the programm) is installed in the MBR of your hard drive.
Grub knows where to search for your /boot/grub/menu.lst (specified
when written to mbr).
In this file booting informations are located. When you see the
grub-menu, grub is installed in the mbr of your primary bootig device
(e.g. primary master).
So there is no real problem by now, isn't it (will however
change if you remove your primary master drive)? Mapping your
harddrives will not do any good.
greetings,
markus.
