Yep - there are other options available to you - the driver you're using is
relatively generic; it'll allow you to use your printer, perfectly well I'd
imagine, but maybe not give you full access to all of the functionality your
printer offers.
Have yourself a peep at http://www.turboprint.de/english.html
You can try their drivers out, see what extra the offer you and decide if
you want to splash your cash. Drivers are fully functional, apart from a
watermark which will vanish if you register it. IF you change your printer,
you can use the other turboprint drivers with your registration key - no
need to buy the driver again.
Please note, I'm not connected with them - I've never used their software
and in fact, I don't actually have a printer plugged into my linux machine,
but I have heard rave reviews of their products. Maybe the extra
functionality isn't worth it for you - just letting you know it's
available...
