(bluetooth) cellphone as modem?

I have a palm treo 650 that I can use with a windows laptop as a
modem when there's no wifi signal around.  The phone stays in my bag;
I connect to it with bluetooth from the laptop.  Can I do the same
thing under Ubuntu?

I would settle for connecting to the phone with a USB cable if that's
necessary, but since I have bluetooth on the laptop it would be nice
to match the functionality of Windows.
