Problem with Intel 82865G graphics

Hello All,

Recently we got a machine with Intel 82865G chipset for the graphics.
Here is the relevant lspci output:

Ubuntu dapper installs nicely; sound, X, networking worked fine without
any problem. The problem starts when I try to play a mpg/avi file or
play any 3d games/apps (ppracer, stellarium, torcs) or even try
glxgears. The displays blanks out and the key locks up. The machine
hangs and I have to do a hard reset. Searching the forums did not give
any answers. Has anyone faced a similar problem and found a solution?
Any pointers/heklp would be helpfu.
