What do you mean by log on to your local network. Are you refer to a
Windows domain server that you wish to logon/authenticate against?

LiveCDs are usually not configured to logon at all. They are kiosk
style setups to demonstrate something or provide a temporary desktop.
In other words they are as generic as it gets.
