Thank you for clarifying.  I thought it didn't matter because I remember 
reading the VM Ware documentation which said that the filesharing files 
were read/write by anyone but if you did a stat, you would always get 
root for ownership and 700 for permissions.  I'll have to try the same 
thing out with server player.
