Has anyone ever tested the alternate installers?

I'm not sure what you mean by the device names, but I can answer for the
alternate installers. I've done text-mode installation and server
installation both. They worked fine. I haven't tried OEM installation
(and have no idea what that even means), however, so if this is where
you're having your problems I can't help.
