msi megabook s420 acpi issues

I have this laptop: MSI Megabook s420 (ms-141214 barebone) and I'm 
having problems running ubuntu on this notebook: it will not boot
unless I add "hpet=disable" as kernel parameter. Also, ACPI is not
working correctly: e.g. a constant temperature is given, I can not scale
   cpu, remaining battery time is incorrect,...

I filed this bug to start with upstream:

However, maybe someone on this mailing list can help me further?
