Better is subjective.  What I'm sure of is that GNOME
is more stable than KDE.  I have one PC that has
problems with *any* Linux, but I have far fewer of
those problems with GNOME than KDE.  When I had
Kubuntu, every time I got up in the morning, something
had crashed:  the panel, amarok, superkaramba, KDE
itself .. *some*thing.  I've had no crashes with GNOME
just the spontaneous signal 15, where I'm
automatically logged out.
