installing KPPP

That's hardly going to help him install kppp.  The correct answer is that
(for either ppp gui) you need to add "universe" to the repositories
in /etc/apt/sources.list.  Whether it's in Ubuntu or Kubuntu makes no
difference if you're getting packages from the Ubuntu archives - they
contain all the packages for both versions.  It only makes a difference on
the distribution CDs (because there isn't room for both on one CD).
