Because i want to act upon this advise which i have copied from this link
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DialupModemHowto#head-068a426acfdc8518889ea095253c50b665bce5d4

I have an Intel 537EP modem and it worked both on 4.10 and 5.04 using
the drivers from the Intel page. The only drawback was that wvdialconf
seemed not to recognize /dev/modem (it only scanned /dev/ttyS*). My
(rather dangerous) solution was to (backup and) replace one of the
/dev/ttyS* with a symlink to /dev/537 so wvdialconf could recognize
it. Besides that, there were no other inconveniences. Hope this is
useful.
