Yes. "Beep Media Player" is gnome-ish enough in that it uses GTK2. :)
It's VERY similar to XMMS, which in turn is very similar to WinAmp. 

It's fully skinnable, has equalizer and such.

I dislike the standard music/media players too.  Even OpenOffice Calc is
sexier than those. :P
