Lost some sound - edgy

I've recently updated my edgy machine and it's lost some sound. One
application (csmash - a table tennis game) still plays sound, but
others don't (like reaplayer and unreal tournament). Could it be that
csmash uses midi?
I'm running an nvidia motherboard, with built in sound, but also have
an Soundblaster live! card attached.
lsmod gives:
snd_emu10k1_synth 7808 0

Any advice about what might have gone wrong?
TIA
