driver issue and linux magazin

Hi,
I want to make sure all my drivers on my computer are uptodate and I am
getting the maximum performance from the hardware.
Is there any way to test the system? there is a webservice that tests your
system: http://www.driveragent.com. They do not support linux.  does anybody
knows a service for linux.
Another issue is I am looking for a magazin such as "PC magazin" and "PC
Word" to that I can subscribe. Can anyone recommend something.
