Skype freeze

Hi all,

I (and several other people) experience the problem that Skype
(version 1.3.0.53) can freeze the computer up to several minutes. I
also experience this problem on different laptops, all running
(K)Ubuntu Edgy.

I also found this link [1] but I'm not sure if this is the problem
that I have. I simply cannot believe that some stupid icons lock up
the system.

Since Skype is proprietary, I'm also not sure if I can track down the
problem somehow..
