The situation might be mitigated if there was more information from
the developers about the extent they recognise that there are problems,
and what the state of play is with regard to fixing them.
The problem with the bug reporting system is that you can file a bug
report and it can remain marked for some time as "Needs Info" without
any indication as to what further info is needed, and you are left
wondering whether to wait and not have the use of your machine, or to
try a complete re-installation from scratch, or do a re-install of the
previous version, or what.
Ignorance is far from being bliss in a situation like this.
