ClamAv: is anyone paying attention?

I have several FC4 implementations around town; they're my legacy
systems- things aren't quite done there as sophisticated as they are on
Unbuntu....except for ClamAv.

For some reason, ClamAv under Ubuntu is problematic; there hasn't
been a version released for it in quite a while. And, the nightly
logwatch reminds me of this fact every night.

I looked up the maintainer for the package....guess what? It's not
an Ubuntu person- it's a Debian person who has nothing to do with
Ubuntu. And he has no idea who's been NOT keeping up with the updates.

How'd we manage to get everything else right, but this? Are other
packages maintainers identified incorrectly, too? How soon until our guy
wakes up? It's been many months...
