Selectively changing how syslog files get rotated

Hi list,

I'd like to retain selected syslog log files for a longer period. How do
I accomplish this?

I've already checked /etc/logrotate.d/ and they're not
there. /etc/cron.daily and /etc/cron.weekly shows some leads but they
rotate all syslog log files.

Is editing the syslog rotation files on cron.daily and cron.weekly and
hardcoding the log files the only solution? Is there no other safe way
to do this with minimal changes to the configuration or scripts?

Thanks in advance.
