You can use lpadmin from a shell prompt like this:

$ sudo lpadmin -p HP-880C -E -v parallel:/dev/lp0 \
-m -u allow:all

This assumes the printer is connected at parallel. If you are connected
to the printer in some other
way, you can get info on available device uri's using lpinfo:

$ lpinfo -v
