Dual boot WinXP and Ubuntu 6.10 in desktop and laptop using NTLDR

I know boot.ini is a hidden file and in fact in my Dell laptop it is located
in C:. It is weird, though, that my desktop behaved differently. I guess
that's something to do with the default setting of this HP PC. Once I'd
deleted this FAT32 partition and reinstalled windows using the recovery disk
but windows just refused to boot. Another weird thing I haven't figured out.
Fortunately enough, the warrantee wasn't expired at that time and I was able
to get a new PC. Since then I haven't touched that partition again. :-P
Anyway, I'm going to reinstall Ubuntu tonight and I'll let you know if new
problems popped out.
