Ubuntu has corrupted my file !

No Ive no backup of that corrupted file ARGH!. I thought that posting
here would have given me clues about where to find a mysterious
hidden secret directory in which OOo would have stored my file, or
any so-clever command to restore lost data... Cos I had not checked the
box 'automatically make backups' in OOo's options.
