Trying to extend ext3 root filesystem - problems

Trying to extend my root file system after extending the LV using LVM.  I did 
this with /home using ext2online successfully.

The root system gives the following error:

~$ sudo ext2online /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00
ext2online v1.1.18 - 2001/03/18 for EXT2FS 0.5b
ext2online: group 0, block 2 not reserved

ext2online: unable to resize /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00

Any ideas?
