Well, I didn't test copying initially, but did it now, and it works.
Note though, I don't really have any protection on the samba server. I
have it as security:share.  Not a problem, since I'm alone on my
homenetwork. 

I do remember that you have to make sure that your samba has writeable
access to your share.  What I did was create a user smbuser, put it into
users group, and force any access (from Samba) on the share to use that
user, not matter who the client was logged in as.  This might not work
for you, though.
